The Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 combines two controversial concepts – luxurious design featuring all extras for a super expensive car and a super sports capacity offering ultra-fast performance. How does the Italian car maker achieve that mix? First of all the Automobili Lamborghini uses innovative technologies. Lamborghini Huracan story
The Sant`Agata factory decided to cease the production of the legendary Gallardo a couple of years ago. In the last ten years more than 14 000 Lamborghini enthusiasts have been driving a Gallardo. The model that replaces the icon is named the Lamborghini Huracan. It will be officially presented at the Geneva Motor show 2014.
The name of this Lamborghini is inspired by the Spanish tradition of public bullfighting. The bull Huracan was famous at the end of 19 century with its furious temper.
Lamborghini Huracan performance
The Gallardo successor is powered by a 5.2 L V10 engine delivering 610 hp and 413 ft-lbs of torque. It is coupled with a 7-speed manual dual-clutch transmission named Doppia Frizione and digitally regulated 4WD system. Drivers can choose between STRADA, SPORT and CORSA modes.
Thanks to the mighty powertrain, the car accelerates from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 3.2 seconds and sprints to 200 km/h in 9.9 seconds. The maximum speed is 202 mph (325 km/h). Due to the combination of direct and indirect gasoline injections the car gets more capacity with better fuel consumption and lower emissions.
Lamborghini Huracan Design
The body of the new Huracan is based on a carbon fiber and aluminum structure. Thanks to this combination the sports car has an ultra-light weight of only 1,422 kg. The new Italian sprinter features perfect specific power of only 2.33 kg per hp.
The exterior of the Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 is highlighted by sharp edges. Inside, passengers can use an innovative 12.3 inch TFT instrument cluster.
