2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class – mid-range is getting bigger

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class lineup features new characteristics compared to the previous best selling models. The fourth generation is getting bigger, lighter and innovative. The German car maker sets new standards in the C-class and obviously targets new customers looking for a high-class appeal.

2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class: Exterior Design

The C-Class is based on a lightweight, aerodynamic body. The steel panels have been replaced with aluminum elements. In fact, 50 percent of the car`s construction is made out of aluminum. This material serves also as protective shell for the car. The C-Class compartment complies with the highest safety standards.

The Mercedes-Benz engineers proposed a longer wheelbase (2840 mm). The length of the car is 4686 mm, while the weight is 1810 mm. The passengers enjoy more room and comfort. The bigger size does not mean heavier body. In fact, the model is 100 kilograms lighter than the previous cars.
The 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is created with a classic aesthetic in mind. The large wheels highlight the influence of the modern, sporty stylistic.

Interior

This mid-range car comes with a true high-class interior. The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class features an extensive use of high-end materials. The main eye-catching detail is the centre console panel with a 7 inches screen. The combination of wood, metallic finish of the air vents and leather gives an interior a luxurious look. Hi-tech equipment in the cabin also includes a touch-pad on the controller and a head-up display.

Mercedes-Benz designer developed three interior options: basic AVANTGARDE; luxurious EXCLUSIVE and sporty AMG line.

2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class: Engine options

The Mercedes-Benz C is available with five petrol power trains delivering from 154bhp to 238 bhp. The fuel consumption is 20 percent lower in comparison with third generation cars.There are two variations powered by diesel engines pumping out 168bhp and 113bhp. They are fitted with Selective catalytic reduction technology. The car maker is planning a hybrid, and a plug-in version. The fourth generation features six-speed manual transmissions.

2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class: Price

The fourth generation C-Class series is already available on the market. The electric version Mercedes-Benz C 220 BlueTEC is priced at $ 58 000( 38675 euros), the C 180 is cheaper – $ 46 000 (33 000 euros). You can purchase a Mercedes-Benz C 200 at a price of $49000 (36 000 euros).
